The optimised Shopping titles and descriptions went live on 4 November 2026. This page tracks whether they move the account the way we expect: products appearing for more specific searches, and ROAS rising as a result.
The verdict and checks always use the standard periods, so they mean the same thing every week. The date filters above change the figures and charts below them, and the other tabs.

Shopping and Performance Max campaigns combined, from campaign totals. Brand search is shown as a demand check: the titles do not touch it, so a fall there points to demand, not titles.
Rank before is fixed: each product's position by impressions (or clicks, when ordering by clicks) over the four baseline weeks. Rank after uses the weeks since the switch, so ▲ means a product has moved up the list. Impressions, clicks and spend are weekly averages: the four baseline weeks against the weeks after the switch. ROAS on GA4 purchases. "Profitable" means ROAS at or above the floor; products under £5 a week are too small to call.
Share of non-brand clicks from specific searches
Searches naming a frame shape, colour, gender, strength, lens type or material. The new titles carry these words, so this is the most direct sign they are working.

What is being compared
Baseline: the four full weeks before the switch, w/c 5, 12, 19 and 26 October 2026.
Switch week (w/c 2 November) is mixed and left out of the before-and-after. Titles went into the feed on 4 November; Merchant Center fetches once a day.
After: every full week from w/c 9 November.
Seasonal control: November runs into Black Friday, so a plain before-and-after mostly measures the season. Each week is compared with the same weeks last year (364 days back, same weekdays), scaled to this year's baseline. The gap between actual and expected is the best estimate of what the titles did.
Purchases: GA4 throughout. Google's own purchase count double-counted from August to October 2025, which would break the comparison with last year.
Conversion lag: a week only counts towards the verdict once it ended eight or more days ago. Younger weeks are shown hollow and their ROAS will rise.
Like for like: product and search figures cover products in today's feed only. Accessories, removed on 25 October, and Outlet stock drop out of both sides.
When to act
Emails
A weekly report goes to Joe and Harj at 07:00 every Monday. A daily check runs at 06:00 and only sends if something has broken: impressions halving against the same weekday, the feed shrinking, products disapproved, or Google not picking up the titles. Each alert is sent at most once every three days.
